Looking to breathe new life and funding into his campaign, former US President Donald Trump is jumping on the Bitcoin train by launching a new collection of NFTs that will be created on the leading blockchain using the Ordinals inscription.

A tweet from the Collect Trump Card account, which has previously promoted other Trump-related projects, said 200 cards containing images from the Trump MugShot collection will be recorded on the Bitcoin blockchain and those records will be sold on Magic Eden at Magic Eden. It is explained as follows. A later undisclosed date.

1. A great news collector! https://t.co/vrpHbxyrFG When you purchase 100 Trump digital trading cards using cryptocurrency (WETH) in the Mugshot Edition, you will also receive a One-of-One Trump digital trading card.

According to the Collect Trump Cards website, 100 NFTs must be purchased with Wrapped Ethereum. Wrapped tokens are digital assets that allow the value of an underlying asset, such as Bitcoin (in this case Ethereum), to be transferred from one blockchain to another.

To boost sales, ā€œone-for-oneā€ inscriptions will be issued to the first 200 people to purchase 100 Trump NFTs in a single transaction. Those who purchase 100 NFTs will also receive two VIP tickets to an event hosted by Trump at Mar-a-Lago.

ā€œAll Trump Digital Trading Cards: MugShot Edition are non-transferable until December 31, 2024,ā€ Collect Trump Cards said. ā€œBecome part of the Trump collector community!ā€

As of this writing, less than half of the NFTs in this latest drop have been minted, per OpenSea.

The Ordinals collection is the former president’s latest foray into digital collectibles. In December, MugShot Edition launched a collection of 100,000 NFTs on the Polygon network.

Later that month, the former president sold 1,075 ETH, worth about $2.4 million at the time, according to blockchain intelligence firm Arkham.

The Collect Trump Card Twitter account clearly denied that NFTs are for entertainment purposes.

ā€œTrump Digital Trading Cards (NFTs) are intended as collectible items for personal enjoyment and not as an investment vehicle,ā€ the account said. ā€œThese digital trading cards are not political and are not affiliated with any political campaign.ā€
