Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss donated a total of $2 million worth of Bitcoin to former US President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee in the upcoming presidential election.
The Winklevoss twins announced their donation in a post about
“I just donated $1 million Bitcoin (15.47 BTC) to (Donald Trump). “I will be voting for him in November,” Tyler Winklevoss said in his post.
“The Biden administration has publicly declared war on cryptocurrencies, weaponizing multiple government agencies to bully, bully, and sue good actors in the industry in an effort to destroy them,” said the Gemini CEO. He also said in a lengthy explanation why he did it. I think Trump is the better choice for president.
Tyler’s twin brother Cameron Winklevoss also revealed why he donated $1 million worth of Bitcoin to Trump. “President Trump is pro-Bitcoin, pro-cryptocurrency, pro-business,” he said.
Not only has the Trump campaign recently begun accepting cryptocurrency donations, the former president has also sought to position himself as the candidate most likely to support cryptocurrencies.
