As summarized in the Bitfinex’s educational series, explore the complexity of the moving average convergence (MACD) and the importance of transactions.
According to the Bitfinex’s training series, the average convergence of movement (MACD) is a pivotal tool for traders to identify initial market signals. This technical indicator acts as a ‘radar’ of the market, allowing the trader to capture the initial signal before the price of the price occurs.
What is MACD?
The short MACD for the moving average convergence release acts as a speedometer for market momentum. It provides insight into whether the market is strengthened or weakened or weakened, and whether the price reversal is imminent. Tools such as SMA and EMA have a direction of price trend, but MACD shows the strengths or weaknesses of these trends, so the trader can detect new trends before the price behavior becomes clear.
MACD component
MACD consists of three main elements.
- MACD line (blue line): It acts as an exercise gauge. The increase suggests a strong purchase interest, while the sales pressure decreases.
- Signal Line (Orange Line): A warning signal that follows the MACD line. The crossover by the MACD line on the signal line suggests a purchase opportunity, and the crossover below represents a signal.
- Histogram (red/green bar): It represents the distance between the MACD and the signal line. The bar expansion rod represents a strong momentum, and the contract rod suggests weakness.
Why traders prefer MACD
Traders value MACD for the following abilities:
- Identify new trends before significant price fluctuations.
- Exactly identify the entrance and outlet points and sell when purchasing and weakened while the momentum is increasing.
- By measuring the market intensity, we distinguish between the major players accumulated and the small traders.
Practical example of BTC/USD
Consider the BTC/USD pair with 326 MACD lines and the signal line of -279 in the actual context. The crossover on the MACD line on the signal line is especially powerful when the green histogram bar is expanded.
Tip of a skillful merchant
Experts suggest that they confirm the signal and improve the accuracy and combine the MACD with the EMA/SMA near the support/resistance level. But to avoid wrong signals, you must pay attention when applying MACD to the market to the side.
For those who are interested in MACD search, Bitfinex provides a platform for testing this indicator. The trader can log in to the BITFINEX account, select a pair of transactions such as BTC/USD, and then add the MACD indicator from the indicator tab to start practice.
MACD is respected for the ability to read market momentum before the price trend is clearly cleared to capture the change of wind before the voyage begins.
