Universalios (or Universal Ios) is a fraudulent cryptocurrency DApp used to steal funds from investors who were lured into the scheme by someone they met online.

Victims are contacted through various social media platforms, and although senders often claim it was a ‘mistake’, they soon form friendships with them.

Scammers then encourage victims to participate in cryptocurrency investments with promises of large profits, and instruct victims to set up a cryptocurrency wallet and install the Universalios DApp.

When victims begin transferring funds and ‘investing’ they appear to make a profit, but when they try to withdraw funds they find it impossible.

The scammer will then demand a large fee to release the funds and will continue to make these demands until the victim runs out of money or stops paying.

How to Spot a Universalios Scam

Spotting scams like this can be very difficult. This is especially true if you are new to the world of cryptocurrency.

However, there are some things to watch out for, such as the freshness of the domain name and the permissions you grant to the DApp.

For Universalios, the domain name is very new and has the lowest domain authority rating. This could be a sign that it is a scam platform.

Also, you should never trust someone you just met online. This is especially true if the person starts talking to you about investing and encourages you to part with your money.

It is very important to do your own research and only invest in plans that you know and are confident are legitimate.

Can I get my money back from cryptocurrency scammers?

Recovering funds lost due to scams like Universalios is very difficult and you will likely never see your cash again unless you secure compensation from your bank or the legitimate cryptocurrency exchange used for the transaction.

There are also private companies that can help, as I wrote here.
