Vitalik Buterin, the co -founder of Ether Leeum, recognized the main dramatic development of zero knowledge (ZK) technology this week, and proved the “amazing” stage by developing the recent development in real time.
Burterin’s opinion announced that her team had achieved real -time Etherrium proof in response to developer UMA ROY’s posts, and many people in the encryption community considered the “moon shooting” a year ago.
Performance gap and verification obstacle
Roy’s posts with significant tractions in social media have made milestones into a decisive moment of ZK field.
However, some observers, including the Zeng Jiajun researcher, questioned whether the demonstration system was revolutionary given the past forecast that such performance took several years.
Buterin pointed out some reasons why it was impressive while celebrating the dictionary, but it should not be considered to be prepared for production for Ethereum’s Layer 1 Network.
He pointed out that the current proof system only explains the average case scenario and does not yet deal with the worst performance.
He also reported the lack of official verification. In other words, the system did not obtain strict mathematical evidence to ensure accuracy.
VITALIK suggested that the inexption of code and financial risks remain as an important disadvantage in Ether Leeum’s high equity environment.
Energy use and scaling target
Another concern raised by Buterin was the energy consumption of the system. Real -time majors use about 100 kilowatts of power to use universal or home -based use.
Buterin ideally said that this system can be proven at home, so it should work on a machine of about 10 kilowatts that can guarantee a wider decentralization and accessibility.
He also mentioned Ether Leeum’s long -term scaling goal, especially plans to increase the Layer 1 gas limit from 10 to 100x.
Achieving the rapid increase in this limit will require significant optimization to prove performance, and this technology still strengthens the claim that it can still have several steps before being deployed at the basic protocol level.
Despite these warnings, Buterin reaffirmed Roy and her team’s work and described it as a major milestone in the ZK environment. But he also mentioned that Ether Lee would happen more than to completely integrate this development into the core infrastructure.
