Wall Street Journal charged with defamation over 2023 Tether-Bitfinex article

At the time of publication, the article included several paragraphs about Harborne and AML. On February 21, 2024, a week before the lawsuit was filed, the following statement was added to the editor’s note: “An earlier version of this article included a section about Christopher Harborne and AML Global applying for an account at Signature Bank. That section stated that AML’s attempts to open an account were an effort by Tether, Bitfinex, or an affiliated company to mislead the bank.” or was removed to avoid any potential suggestion that Harborne or AML withheld or falsified information during the application process.”
