I had a Bitcoin Qt wallet in 2013, and I still have two backup wallet.dat files. I believe one was backed up from a Windows laptop and the other was backed up from an Apple Mac. I no longer have any files other than my computer or two. back up. I just restored this backup to Bitcoin Core V26 and synced it to the blockchain, and it shows my current balance and all transaction history.
I’m not very good with computers, so I’m confused when I try to follow the btcrecovery method.
I’ve read most of the similar questions here, but none of them really address what I need. Obviously, it would be perfect if you could recover your password. But I understand why they made it impossible to do so.
But I know pretty well what my password is, so that if I know how many characters it is, I can figure out what it is, and I just need to figure out the uppercase and lowercase letters. The password must be between 26 and 34 characters long. Can someone tell me if it’s possible to narrow it down to the exact number of characters that give me a phrase and then brute force it to count the uppercase, lowercase, and special characters?
