Elon Musk’s space exploration company, SpaceX, has moved over $.133 million It was traded in bitcoin on Friday, according to blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence.

The significant on-chain transfer is the latest in a series of actions the company has taken recently following a more than three-year hiatus in wallet activity.

The transaction sparked fresh speculation in the market, but it was not immediately clear why the funds were transferred or whether the company intended to sell some of its significant Bitcoin holdings.

Large scale on-chain transfers to label-less wallets

Arkham Intelligence reports that SpaceX transferred the total. 1,215 Bitcoin As two separate transactions to the new wallet. “SpaceX just moved a total of $133.7 million in funds.” Published by an analytics company.

The move comes just days after similar amounts of bitcoin were moved between addresses managed by the company.

Unlike previous transfers, Arkham noted that the new receiving wallet is not currently marked as belonging to the Hawthorne, California-based company.

History of significant Bitcoin holdings

Before the recent move, SpaceX 8,285 BTCApproximately $ equivalent914 million It is the fourth-largest private company holding Bitcoin at current prices, according to data from BitcoinTreasuries.net.

If you look at the company’s on-chain history, you’ll see that it once had a lot more assets.

In 2022, addresses listed as belonging to the aerospace company held up to 25,000 BTC, but that number fell to its current level of 8,285 BTC in June of that year.

Following this move, SpaceX no longer registered any on-chain activity until earlier this year, when it began consolidating some of its Bitcoin holdings.

Tesla’s own Bitcoin connection

Another of Musk’s companies, electric vehicle and robotics company Tesla, also maintains strong links to Bitcoin.

The company currently owns 11,509 BTCWorth more than $1.27 billionIt ranks just outside the top 10 publicly traded companies holding Bitcoin government bonds.

Earlier this year, Tesla reassessed its Bitcoin holdings under new accounting rules, which helped it post more than $600 million in quarterly profits as BTC prices rose following President Donald Trump’s election.

As of Friday, the price of Bitcoin was trading at $1, down slightly on the day.110,541.

SpaceX officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the purpose of the move.
