Deaton is looking to take down Senator Elizabeth Warren, whom Tyler Winklevoss called “public enemy number one” of cryptocurrencies in a piece for X. “She is the chief architect and driver of the Biden administration’s crypto war,” he said.
The two brothers said in separate posts that they were each donating $500,000 in Bitcoin to Deaton’s campaign. Cameron Winklevoss called Deaton “pro-bitcoin” and “pro-crypto” in the post.
Earlier this week, Ripple Labs donated $1 million to a new super political action committee created to help Deaton defeat Warren in the upcoming election. Deaton accepts cryptocurrency donations on its official website.
Last month, the Winklevoss twins also supported former President Donald Trump, donating a combined $2 million to the Republican presidential candidate. The Gemini co-founders also donated $250,000 each to a pro-Trump super PAC.
In recent months, Trump has successfully positioned himself as a pro-cryptocurrency presidential candidate, unlike in the past when he disparaged digital assets.
