On May 25 last year, Donald Trump pledged to commute the sentence of early Bitcoin pioneer and Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht if elected president. As we all know, Trump won the election and will be inaugurated a week from today.

This leaves an important question on the minds of Bitcoin investors: Will Trump actually pardon Ross?

I believe Trump will 100% keep his word and release Ross from prison. I have never seen anything to suggest that Trump would do anything differently, only things that make me confident that he will deliver on this promise. What Trump does will be relatively easy, and given his continued support for the Bitcoin industry, we are confident that Ross will soon be walking away as a free man again.

Judging by Ross’s

She recently said on behalf of Ross, “As a resolution for the last month of 2024, I will study every day and speed up as much as possible while preparing for freedom.”

For those of you unfamiliar with the story, Ross has been in prison since 2013 for creating the Silk Road website, which allowed users to buy and sell items with Bitcoin. He was sentenced to 40 years without parole for living a double life as a non-violent first offender. At Ross’ trial, he was not charged with causing harm or bodily harm, and the victim was not named. Although Ross was not directly tried for selling drugs or illegal items, he was held responsible for items listed by others on Silk Road that contained drugs.

Now, 12 years later, the time has come for Ross to be released.

In 2022, Ross wrote a letter to President Biden requesting pardon, in which he explained that he did not create the website with any ill intentions and was merely promoting the liberal ideology he believed in. He also shared that he wouldn’t do that if he were released. Do whatever it takes to “break the law” again.

President Biden ignored the letter and threw him in jail. And now President Trump has the opportunity to allow him to live the rest of his life as a free man.

Ross himself believes Trump will deliver on his promises.

On my behalf, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to everyone who voted for President Trump. I believe He will keep His promise and give me a second chance.

After spending more than 11 years in the dark, I can finally see the light of freedom at the end of the tunnel. Thank you very much, @realDonaldTrump 🙏

I’m looking forward to Ross coming home.
