The state of the Ethereum ecosystem has been electric since the last Devcon announcement. We have achieved significant milestones on the Eth2 roadmap, as well as numerous innovations and major advances from teams across the ecosystem. We are very excited to celebrate these achievements with all of you at Devcon coming soon to Bogotá.
However, rather than pursuing our August goal (☔️✔), we have made the difficult decision to postpone the reunion a little longer, so we need to talk about the timing. Although we cannot guarantee anything given the ongoing pandemic, we hope that an announcement of a new date will be possible soon as the availability of COVID-19 vaccines increases and updated pandemic-related trends improve. Nonetheless, we want to do this responsibly and enable as many people as possible to travel around the world. That doesn’t seem likely until early August. We’ve been continuously monitoring and listening to the concerns raised by our community in recent weeks and months, as well as the general sentiment about August, and the best way to make this happen was clear. Everyone Just need a little more time.
In the meantime, a lot is happening! The road to Devcon will be paved with a variety of events, both virtual and offline, including EthCC (hosted in Paris by our friends at Ethereum France), currently scheduled to take place in July 2021. We are excited to support the efforts of all the amazing and creative teams working to keep the ecosystem thriving. And while we’ve continued to engage and connect from afar over the past year, we hope to get back together once things improve.
As soon as dates are announced, you’ll find information about ticketing, speaker registration, and any other details you might want to know. We will actively review it until then.
