Disgraced FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) reportedly gave a prison guard a cryptocurrency tip while awaiting sentencing in his fraud trial.
Moreover, another source said that he was using fish as currency even for simple objects like fish.
SBF having to adapt to prison lifestyle
According to recent reports, SBF has adopted the fish, mackerel, as a form of currency, creating a new commodity similar to cigarettes within the prison environment. Additionally, according to one source, SBF is providing cryptocurrency tips to prison guards.
Additionally, SBF was reportedly receiving a “desired dose of Adderall,” a medication used to treat ADHD. He is also reportedly receiving vegetarian meals, which he prefers.
He has previously raised concerns about both drug treatment and vegetarian meals, claiming the prison did not meet the desired standards for either option.
On August 22, BeInCrypto reported that SBF’s lawyers notified a Manhattan federal court that he was surviving on a diet of “bread and water” in prison.
This comes nearly two weeks after a court revoked SBF’s bail on August 11 on witness tampering charges.
