Former US President Donald Trump promoted a limited edition Bitcoin-themed sneaker on social media on Wednesday, shortly after this year’s Republican presidential nominee spoke at Bitcoin 2024.
“Speaking at the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “Get your Bitcoin sneakers now. They are limited edition, individually numbered, and you can now pay with Bitcoin or your favorite crypto.”
In his keynote speech at the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville last Saturday, President Trump pledged that if he were to be elected in November, he would fire SEC Chairman Gary Gensler and create a “strategic Bitcoin reserve” by preventing the United States from selling its Bitcoin holdings.
In addition to accepting political donations made in cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, Trump has also reportedly been involved in selling a collection of NFTs featuring his likeness.
