Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has dropped out of the 2024 U.S. presidential race.
According to documents filed with the Arizona Secretary of State, Kennedy withdrew from the race on August 22.
The withdrawal comes ahead of a speech Kennedy is scheduled to deliver in Arizona on August 23.
The resignation comes days after Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump indicated that Kennedy would be available to serve in his administration if the independent candidate dropped out, Trump told CNN.

Trump has once again taken the lead in prediction markets as the most likely candidate to win the US presidential election.
According to Polymarket data, at the time of publication, 51% of users were betting that Trump would win the election, while only 47% believed Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris had a chance of winning.
Trump’s odds have soared over the past week, putting him ahead of Harris. Harris led Trump 52% to 46% in the polls on August 12. Since then, more and more people have started betting on Trump’s chances of winning the presidency.

RFK’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, has suggested joining forces with former President Trump on a coalition ticket. She hinted at a potential partnership in an Aug. 20 interview. shock theory Podcast:
“I think it’s right for us to sit down and see if we can actually make some real change. And if that’s a unified party, I think that’s an absolute obligation to the American people to explore that.”
Shanahan said her decision to step down from the 2024 campaign and join forces with former President Trump hinged on the likelihood of a Harris-Wales presidency. She noted that the Kennedy-Shanahan campaign received proportionally more votes from the Republican frontrunner than the Democratic-led campaign.
RFK Jr.’s pledge to end anti-cryptocurrency policies has been well-received in the crypto community. The independent presidential candidate has pledged to back the U.S. dollar with Bitcoin (BTC) in 2023, but the topic has become a campaign issue used by former President Trump.
