Most of them pretend to be a destructive recruitment manager, a scenario in other sectors.

Sweeney said, “In recent weeks, we have found a surge in a scammer who claims to work for Deribit (and other famous companies). The encryption industry is often pioneering the latest fraudulent tactics, and this fraud is not an exception, we expect to spread quickly in other fields.

Fraud using social engineering tricks

According to Deribit, the scammers are becoming more and more sophisticated and use the opportunity to shake users who have no speed and doubt in the encryption industry. It is one of the common passwords today.

To connect encryption job seekers, scammers first set up a fake profile to LinkedIn.

Here they pretend to be a talented scout, and post a favorite role that provides a lot of privileges. Often targets are encryption companies or platforms and developers who can access sensitive information or systems. When the appropriate object falls into the bait, they pop out.

In some cases, a scammer offers “online evaluation,” but the main goal is to install malware on the JobSeeker device.

Another option is to pretend to provide a job. Before the victim knew, the con artists abandoned their money.

They do not stop there. The case of fake criticism recruiters is to see that an individual requests to attend the meeting directly for the signing of the contract. However, there is no doubt that job seekers are in a fraud of “bring a work laptop.” In this case, the goal is to access the company’s device.
