The Ethereum Research Forum is launching actions to increase visibility and collaboration across diverse academic disciplines to enrich the Ethereum ecosystem.

As the digital frontier expands, interdisciplinary collaboration has become the cornerstone of innovation within the blockchain ecosystem. A prime example of this collaborative spirit can be seen in the Ethereum research community, which recently discussed ways to increase visibility and academic engagement in Ethereum-related research.

The Ethereum Research Forum, a hub for cutting-edge discussion and insight, has recently seen a surge in the publication of detailed research papers and technical insights. This rapid growth is a testament to the thriving community of Ethereum innovators who are pushing the boundaries of blockchain technology through their research efforts.

However, researchers are struggling to get their research to reach a wider audience. Traditional academic platforms, such as Google Scholar, do not easily index articles posted to the Ethereum Research forum, forcing community members to consider alternative strategies to increase visibility and citations.

One notable initiative is the introduction of @ethresearchbot, a Twitter bot. The bot disseminates forum research to a wider audience and leverages AI to summarize complex research to make it easier for fellow researchers. This innovative approach not only expands the scope of research, but also highlights the importance of interdisciplinary work in the blockchain domain, encompassing computer science, cryptography, statistics, finance, social sciences, and various game theories.

To further promote interdisciplinary research, community members suggest that making research more visible is key. This can be achieved by compiling forum content into paper collections with DOI numbers assigned, similar to preprints, for quick retrieval and citation in academic search engines.

The concept of visibility is also advocated by projects such as mev.fyi, an open-source MEV research chatbot that indexes the content of a database and makes it accessible through the MEV Research Hub. The chatbot powered by Flashbots is designed to enhance knowledge sharing within the blockchain research community.

Forum participants expressed interest in tools that could help with discovery and contribution. Contributions are particularly important to ensure that ideas are recognized fairly, and this can be addressed by standardizing and indexing posts that are fleshed out enough to resemble “mini-papers.”

The community continues to explore the most effective formats for sharing research, with suggestions ranging from indexable posts to formal preprints. The most important goal is to create an environment where innovative ideas can be freely discussed and developed into comprehensive knowledge.

As the discussion progresses, the Ethereum Research community is actively seeking more contributors to join the conversation and help shape the future of blockchain research diffusion. Through collaborative efforts, the Forum aims to bridge the gap between exploratory ideas and recognized academic research and create a rich ecosystem of shared knowledge and breakthroughs in Ethereum technology.
