  • American actor Sydney Sweeney’s X account has been hacked.
  • Hackers raise $13 million in 30 minutes and then dump the coins minutes later.
  • Rapper Iggy Azalea mocks Sweeney after she rejoins X.

As celebrities jump on the Solana meme coin craze, more and more celebrities are getting hacked every day. Their X followers are often hit by dubious meme currencies promoted by scammers.

This time, famous American actor Sydney Sweeney woke up to find that her X account had been hacked. Cybercriminals were quick to move and release a fake Solana (SOL) meme coin called $SWEENEY.

🚹HACKING ALERT: Sydney Sweeney’s X account has been hacked #SolanaThe underlying cryptocurrency is named Mimecoin #Sweeney.

The token hit $10 million in trading volume in just two hours before its price plunged 90%.

The hackers burned 10% of the supply and promised to soon give $10,000 worth of the cryptocurrency to followers.

How scammers raised $13 million in 30 minutes

In just 30 minutes, X’s crypto community poured about $13 million into the token. The meme coin’s price rose by over 2,500% in 15 minutes, and a regular sequence of pump-and-dump scams followed.

The SWEENEY meme coin quickly crashed into the zero zone, destroying the crypto enthusiasts who bought it. Australian rapper Iggy Azalea took a shot at Sweeney and asked him a sarcastic question. “What’s wrong, honey? đŸ„ș“

After regaining control of her account, Sweeney immediately deleted all the fraudulent messages, but did not respond to Azalea’s comments or clarify the situation to her followers.

On the other side

  • Some cryptocurrency traders have decided to imitate the new SWEENEY meme coin, even though they know it was likely created by cybercriminals.
  • By this logic, SOL meme coin traders expected to make some profit from the chaos and spontaneous excitement.
  • rumor Despite Sweeney’s silence, X has put controversial planner Sahil Ahora at the top of its list of suspects.

Why this matters

As celebrity meme coin scams increase, attention is being drawn to high-profile cryptocurrency figures. This hack follows a trend across the industry.
