This time, famous American actor Sydney Sweeney woke up to find that her X account had been hacked. Cybercriminals were quick to move and release a fake Solana (SOL) meme coin called $SWEENEY.
The hackers burned 10% of the supply and promised to soon give $10,000 worth of the cryptocurrency to followers.
How scammers raised $13 million in 30 minutes
In just 30 minutes, Xâs crypto community poured about $13 million into the token. The meme coinâs price rose by over 2,500% in 15 minutes, and a regular sequence of pump-and-dump scams followed.
The SWEENEY meme coin quickly crashed into the zero zone, destroying the crypto enthusiasts who bought it. Australian rapper Iggy Azalea took a shot at Sweeney and asked him a sarcastic question. “What’s wrong, honey? đ„ș“
After regaining control of her account, Sweeney immediately deleted all the fraudulent messages, but did not respond to Azalea’s comments or clarify the situation to her followers.
