Linea unveiled its Linea Association establishment and decentralization plans at DevCon Bangkok, marking a significant step in its growth and governance.
Linea, a blockchain initiative known for its sovereignty-centric approach, announced significant plans for expansion at DevCon in Bangkok this week. According to linea.mirror.xyz, this announcement marks an important milestone in Linea’s journey toward decentralization.
Linea Association formed
On Wednesday at L2con, AltLayer Rollup Day and THW3 Bangkok, Linea unveiled the creation of the Linea Association. This independent Swiss non-profit organization is dedicated to fostering the growth, development and governance of Linea’s open source technology and ecosystem. The Association aims to expand beyond its original focus and unite like-minded communities globally.
This announcement was well received within the industry, receiving favorable reviews from major media outlets such as CoinDesk, CoinTelegraph, and Decrypt. The establishment of the Linea Association is considered a pivotal step in advancing Linea’s mission.
Consensys Network Health and Decentralization
In his keynote address at DevCon, Consensys CEO Joe Lubin highlighted Linea’s path toward decentralized governance. He introduced the concept of the Consensys Network State based on the Linea mainnet, emphasizing its role as a central network for Consensys’ web3 operations.
Lubin also announced the launch of sovs.xyz, a project designed to promote individual sovereignty within a decentralized future. The initiative invites participants to declare their sovereignty and support the new networked state movement.
Engagement at DevCon and beyond
The Linea team has actively participated in various events across Bangkok, including the main DevCon event, De.Fi World, and Linea x Bitkub Unbound. They also demonstrated their willingness to engage with the blockchain community by offering bounties at EthGlobal Bangkok.
