Kraken Desktop is built differently. While other desktop applications rely on web-based architecture, we developed this app from scratch using Iced, a low-latency, low-memory GUI library built on Rust.
If you’re already a Kraken Pro customer, you’ll be happy to know that Kraken Desktop integrates seamlessly with your Kraken Pro account, allowing you to take advantage of a variety of new data analysis and trading tools to enhance your strategies.

Looking inside, you’ll find Rust, the core architecture of Kraken Desktop. Have you never heard of it? Well, it’s basically a programming language known for making computer hardware work easily while running software safely and quickly (which means it won’t roast your computer’s motherboard running multiple trading windows simultaneously).
Kraken’s core backend development team is working on a broader plan to transition more services to Rust to modernize existing tools. All of this means two things: minimum latency and maximum reliability – two things we know about traders. love.
Over the past few months, we’ve been rigorously testing Kraken Desktop with a dedicated group of beta testers. Throughout this process, we collected valuable feedback from active traders who appreciated the app’s extremely fast and responsive interface.
Armed with their insights, we made several user experience and functionality improvements to address the pain points and ensure Kraken Desktop matches the full functionality of our web and mobile trading platforms.
