Peplicator has taken the NFT market by storm.
On March 9, 2024, digital artist and creator Furie launched the new Peplicator collection of non-fungible tokens. Peplicator is a collection of non-fungible tokens with a limited supply of 22,065 NFTs hosted on the Ethereum blockchain network. At launch, the mint price for regular users was 0.1 ETH, and the mint price for HEDZ NFT holders was 0.042 ETH. Holders of ZOGZ and Pepe Open Editions had the exclusive opportunity to mine at half price.
Matt Furie drew the green character for an innocent online comic back in 2015. Nonetheless, the well-intentioned cartoon frog gained attention in early 2021 and quickly went viral, becoming a recognized and beloved symbol around the world. The green face has adorned numerous memes, expressing many emotions and resonating with internet users from all walks of life.
Despite his universal appeal, Pepe the Frog became controversial when certain hate groups exploited him during the US presidential election. Pepe has gone from a harmless character to a symbol embraced by the alt-right, a popular internet meme, an NFT sensation, and even a viral coin.
On several occasions, Pepes were tokenized on the Bitcoin blockchain, prior to the popularity of Ethereum-based NFT collections such as CryptoPunks. As the demand for digital collectibles grows, platforms have emerged that allow creators to trade and store these digital images by publishing their artwork as tokenized assets.
The Peplicator ranks #1 in NFT sales.
In the meantime, the Peplicator NFT collection continues to attract interest among traders and collectors. In the last 24 hours, the Peplicator NFT series recorded $3.8 million in transaction sales. The NFT collection had 1,176 buyers and 1,123 sellers. Peplicator NFTs are ranked high in NFT sales, trading behind popular NFT collections such as Bitcoin Ordinals, Blast Box, and Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collections.
