- TapSwap’s decision to postpone the token launch and airdrop demonstrates a strategic approach.
- The delays experienced by TapSwap are not an isolated incident, but rather reflect a broader trend in the blockchain industry.
TapSwap (TAPSWAP), a popular tap-to-win game on Telegram, has announced that it is postponing its highly anticipated token launch, which is now set for Q3 2024.
Additionally, the project’s airdrop, which distributes cryptocurrency to users’ wallets for free, will also take place alongside the token launch.
In early May, the TapSwap team announced the launch of TapSwap Pools, which was originally scheduled to launch on May 30th.
However, due to the recent influx of bots trying to obtain airdrop points, the launch has been delayed until July 1st.
TapSwap reveals reason for delay
To further justify the delay, the company told X (formerly Twitter):
“There’s been a lot of buzz about Tapswap lately, especially with the listing on a tier 1 exchange, the massive drop, etc. And… this kind of attention isn’t just attracting scammers, but also leaders in the web3 industry.”
also,
“This level of attention requires much more detailed work on token economics and the right launch strategy. And that means additional time.”
Community disappointed with change of plans
This is the second time that the TapSwap team has postponed the token launch, and this time, no concrete new date has been provided.
Crypto spoke with Khan, a user of X, about the same:
But as @HommiesDrey highlights, not everyone was on the same page.
“Take your time. Don’t rush, do your best and deliver a top-notch project. I support you. All good things take time. Crypto is not a get-rich-quick scheme. Anyone who is dissatisfied should delete the Telegram bot and get out.”
Needless to say, in addition to the various executives, TapSwap also assured users that this delay will ultimately “allow them to actually benefit from this.”
Well, token launch delays are not uncommon. Recently, Hamster Kombat (HMSTR), Notcoin (NOT), and Ethereum (ETH) Layer 2 network Blast also faced the same issue.
So while the delay has generated mixed reactions within the community, it reflects a strategic response to ensure a robust and safe launch.
