Ethereum (ETH) co-founder Vitalik Buterin is suddenly selling dozens of digital assets, including NEIRO and other memecoins.
Buterin sold Dogecoin (DOGE) and other small-cap, lesser-known digital assets on Monday, according to market analysis platform Arkham Intelligence.
Pseudonymous on-chain analyst EmberCN provides a list of Buterin sales of 28 memecoins totaling close to $1 million on social media platform X.
Sale prices include 70 million Neiros for $74,095 and 92,000 DOGEs for $35,233.
An on-chain analyst said Buterin appears to be consolidating his assets to send donations to his charity Kanro.
Kanro is a biotech charity originally founded by Buterin to address COVID-19 and other pandemic-related issues.
EmberCN says:
“(Buterin) is regularly selling back the memecoins donated to his wallet. “(On Monday) he sold a total of 28 memecoins for 984,000 USDC and then donated the USDC to a Kanro address…
Some tokens have experienced sharp declines due to low market capitalization and low pool depth. For example, DINU fell 68% and SHIB fell 38%.”
This is not the first time Buterin has been seen selling his digital assets to fund Canlo.
Last October, blockchain journalist Colin Wu witnessed Buterin sell about $340,000 worth of meme coins in 30 minutes.
