Deep-pocketed cryptocurrency investors are moving hundreds of millions of dollars worth of digital assets, including Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), to popular cryptocurrency exchange platforms, according to new data.
Crypto whales suddenly moved $780 million worth of virtual currency, nearly $500 million of which is the highest-ranking cryptocurrency asset by market capitalization, according to Whale Alert, a whale research platform.
Bitcoin-related transactions on Whale Alert’s radar include:
- 3,167 BTC worth $139,724,560 was transferred from an unknown wallet to cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase.
- 2,000 BTC worth $88,297,346 was transferred from Coinbase to an unknown wallet.
- 1,380 BTC worth $61,038,659 was transferred from Coinbase to an unknown new wallet.
- 2,250 BTC worth $100,136,748 was transferred from an unknown wallet to another wallet.
- 584 BTC worth $25,629,293 was transferred from cryptocurrency exchange Binance to an unknown wallet.
- 1,815 BTC worth $79,636,169 was transferred from cryptocurrency exchange Kraken to cryptocurrency exchange Bitfinex.
Bitcoin is trading at $43,436 at the time of writing, down 1.2% in the last 24 hours.
Other trades mentioned by Whale Alert in relation to altcoins such as leading smart contract platform, popular meme asset Dogecoin (DOGE) and XRP include:
- 14,629 ETH worth $33,300,497 was transferred to Coinbase from an unknown wallet.
- 14,648 ETH worth $32,937,090 was transferred to Binance from an unknown wallet.
- 20,997 ETH worth $47,192,106 was transferred from cryptocurrency lender Liquity to an unknown wallet.
- 11,266 ETH worth $25,278,451 was transferred from Binance to an unknown wallet.
- 10,000 ETH worth $22,436,362 was transferred to Binance from an unknown wallet.
- 26,000,000 XRP worth $15,229,979 was transferred from an unknown wallet to cryptocurrency exchange Bitso.
- 24,700,000 XRP worth $14,468,480 was transferred from an unknown wallet to cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp.
- 883,016,276 DOGE worth $72,931,469 were transferred from an unknown wallet to another wallet.
- 307,491,734 DOGE worth $25,401,703 were transferred from an unknown wallet to another wallet.
Ethereum, XRP, and Dogecoin are trading at $2,221, $0.563, and $0.82, respectively, at the time of this writing.
