Cryptocurrency benchmark index provider CF Benchmarks has launched a series of staking indices for institutional clients.
This data, called the CF Staking Reward Rate Series, provides investors with reward rates for specific proof-of-stake protocols, providing institutional clients with a more appropriate reflection of daily staking rewards, the company said in a statement.
The indices of the new CF Staking Reward Rate series have been registered with the European Union’s benchmark regulations. The reward rate data is sourced from four institutional non-custodial staking providers, the company added.
“Proof-of-stake has become a popular consensus mechanism because it opens transaction verification and network governance to token holders,” Sui Chung, CEO of CF Benchmarks, said in a statement. “The CF Staking Reward Ratio Series now provides a comprehensive overview of token holders, opening up the Proof-of-Stake space to potential investors.”
“Indices already form the benchmark for financial products in most asset classes that exist today,” added Jeong. “Indices such as CF staking reward rates will become the core infrastructure for the next generation of products and services that provide investors with exposure to potential activity.”
