Shiba Inu (SHIB), the second-largest dog coin by market capitalization, is seeing slight gains on Saturday, with the Ethereum-based token jumping to its highest price in eight months, while top dog Dogecoin (DOGE) is seeing some gains.
Shiba Inu surged to a price of $0.00002969 on Saturday evening before cooling slightly to a current price of $0.00002897. Despite the price drop, SHIB was up more than 12% on the day. The last time it hit a high on a Saturday was eight months ago, on April 1st.
Among the top 50 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization, it had the biggest gain, followed by Filecoin, up 10% on the day, according to data from CoinGecko.
Dog-themed meme coins weren’t all that hot during the day. Bonk (BONK) and Dogwifhat (WIF) are only up about 1% each over the past 24 hours. However, Ethereum-based FLOKI surged nearly 6% today.
Meanwhile, Dogecoin rose 3% today, exceeding $0.43 and approaching its highest price in a week. Last Saturday, DOGE hit a three-year high of $0.475. But even at current prices, DOGE is up 164% over the past month.
Another popular meme coin, Brett (BRETT) (the top meme issued on the Ethereum layer 2 network base) surged to an all-time high of $0.2032 on Saturday and is currently up 17% in the last 24 hours.
