In collaboration with Telekom MMS, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, stc Bahrain, Heartcore Capital, Arca Finance and Cardinal Cryptography, the hybrid event will offer multiple tracks with prizes and funding opportunities of up to $575K USD.

The Aleph Zero Foundation, dedicated to the advancement and adoption of the Aleph Zero blockchain, today announced the launch of CTRL+Hack+ZK, a comprehensive hackathon event. The event will be held virtually from January 10 to January 31, 2024. CTRL+Hack+ZK represents Aleph Zero’s most immersive hacking event to date, designed to foster innovation and collaboration in the blockchain space.

CTRL+Hack+ZK invites you to immerse yourself in a three-week virtual hacking experience, whether you are an experienced developer or new to Web3. Participants will participate in Rust and Ink! It includes workshops, educational programming, and hands-on mentoring with Aleph Zero’s core development team and ecosystem partners.

Previous Aleph Zero hackathons have been the birthplace of success stories like AZERO.ID and Syncra being integrated into the Aleph Zero ecosystem. CTRL+Hack+ZK provides a platform for developers to turn innovative ideas into reality and provides an opportunity for projects to be integrated into the growing Aleph Zero ecosystem.

Best Partnerships and Opportunities

Hackathon partners include MMS Telekom, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, Saudi Telecom Bahrain, idOS, Cardinal Cryptography, Generative Ventures, Heartcore Capital, WW Ventures, Blockchain Founders Capital and Buidlers Tribe. Additionally, collaborators including Franklin Templeton Investments, Block54, and RR2 Capital will serve as hackathon judges, providing significant exposure to participants.

The existing Aleph Zero ecosystem partner team will share their experiences to provide practical insights and learnings that can guide new hackathon participants in developing their own projects within the ecosystem.

Drive innovation across multiple tracks

Featuring prizes ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 from a $75,000 USD pool and the opportunity to quickly receive up to $500,000 in follow-on funding, hackathon tracks include:

  • news agency: This track invites developers to leverage Aleph Zero’s advanced tools to transform the telecom sector, focusing on optimizing existing infrastructure and conceptualizing new services, setting the stage for future telecom advancements.
  • DeFi: Developers are encouraged to leverage Aleph Zero’s privacy-centric framework to create their own DeFi solutions and services.
  • did: This track explores identity-related solutions that leverage Aleph Zero’s underlying privacy stack and network of interoperable tool libraries to enable secure, decentralized identity management.
  • gambling: Participants are encouraged to use Aleph Zero creatively to develop NFT-based in-game items, enhance game development with Aleph Zero’s expert library, write smart contracts for in-game transactions and collectibles, and build indexers for game data.
  • Tools and Infrastructure: This track focuses on developing applications, node providers, libraries, and tools that enhance the developer experience and ecosystem around Aleph Zero.

Schedule and participation details

The hackathon will kick off on January 10th with the Aleph Zero Ecosystem Townhall, followed by a series of workshops, intensive hacking sessions, and demo days. Winners will be announced on February 5th and will receive cash prizes, mentorship opportunities, and potential inclusion in the Aleph Zero ecosystem funding program. The program has distributed nearly $4 million in grants to various teams and products to date.
